In his Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis spoke of the pastoral care of marriage as a proclamation of the Gospel of the family. This pastoral care should be a presentation to families of values such as “generosity, commitment, fidelity and patience” (no. 5)

In response, the Center for Priestly Formation and the Center for Juridical Studies on the Family has organized a bi-yearly Course on Pastoral Accompaniment in the Marriage Journey.

This volume collects the reports of that course.

Cervera’s idea is that the Autobiography’s value is for everyone. It is not merely a book that shows Jesuits how God led St. Ignatius to found the Society of Jesus, but it also helps them learn the lessons God chose to give them through their founder’s life.

Cervera has focused his efforts on enabling people of today, and especially young people, to absorb the lessons on spiritual discernment that Ignatius, as a universal teacher, left us in his Autobiography.
