Lluis Cardinal Martínez Sistach is the Archbishop of Barcelona, where he has served since 2004. He earned a doctorate in both canon and civil law from the Pontifical Lateran University. He was elevated to the College of Cardinals in the consistory of November 24, 2007. In addition to his duties as archbishop, he serves as a member of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts.
